OUR VALUES

Mission

At PIN, our mission is to empower the people of Ethiopia by granting them access to valuable information and resources that enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Vision

To create a knowledge-powered Ethiopia where every citizen has easy access to information and resources they need to make informed decisions and develop essential skills.

Purpose

The purpose of the PIN is to bridge the information gap that exists in Ethiopia by providing a platform that connects people with valuable resources.

WHY IT MATTERS

Access to information plays a crucial role in empowering disabled individuals and improving their overall quality of life. Here are some ways in which access to information can positively impact the lives of disabled individuals:

Education

Access to educational resources, such as textbooks, online courses, and assistive technologies, allows disabled individuals to pursue their academic goals. It enables them to acquire knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their employment prospects.

Employment Opportunities

Information about job vacancies, career development programs, and workplace accommodations can help disabled individuals find suitable employment. They can access job boards, online platforms, and disability-specific resources to explore various career options and connect with potential employers.

Independent Living

Accessible information on daily living skills, assistive devices, home modifications, and healthcare services empowers disabled individuals to live more independently. They can learn about adaptive technologies, mobility aids, and strategies for managing their specific disabilities, thereby enhancing their self-reliance.

Social Inclusion

Accessing information about community events, recreational activities, and support groups helps disabled individuals participate in social and cultural activities. They can connect with peers, engage in hobbies, and build supportive networks, reducing feelings of isolation and promoting a sense of belonging.

Rights and Advocacy

Knowledge about disability rights, legislation, and advocacy organizations equips disabled individuals to protect their rights and challenge discrimination in a lot of ways. Accessible information enables them to understand their legal entitlements, file complaints, and actively participate in shaping policies that affect their lives.

Assistive Technologies

Access to information about assistive technologies, such as screen readers, voice recognition software, and specialized communication devices, empowers disabled individuals to overcome barriers in accessing information itself. They enhance their ability to communicate, access digital content, and navigate the online world.
